On the occasion of the golden jubilee celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Technological University, the Department of Computer Science organizes a lecture on Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH)

Under the supervision and presence of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, and on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Technological University, the Computer Science Department organized a lecture on Fiber to the Home (FTTH) on Sunday 2025/4/13 in the hall of the late Dr. Imad Kazem in the department building by the representative of the Rusafa Telecommunications Directorate at the Ministry of Communications, Dr. Adnan Taher Karim. The lecture defined FTTH as an advanced technology in which data is transmitted via light pulses traveling inside fibers made mainly of glass or plastic. Its advantages include accuracy, signal purity, multiplicity of services, reducing energy consumption and improving people’s lives. At the end, the head of the department awarded a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer for his efforts to deliver this workshop.
