
College of Computer Science organizes a scientific workshop on risk and crisis management in university institutions
Under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, and in line with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (8,11,13), the College of Computer Science organized a scientific workshop entitled (Risk and Crisis Management in University Institutions) by Assistant Professor Dr. Suhair Mohammed Zaki on Sunday 5/25/2025 at the hall of the late Dr. Imad Kazem.
The workshop defined risk management as a modern and vital approach in the business world where the complexity and challenges facing institutions are increasing day by day and the ERM program aims to enhance the competitiveness of companies by achieving a balance between achieving goals and controlling the risks faced by those companies and this program helps in analyzing the internal and external environment and identifying potential risks.
Success in crisis management is not measured by the absence of risks, but by the ability to turn threats into opportunities.
The lecture recommended the importance of the presence of risk management in universities as an urgent necessity in research, planning and risk prevention, and therefore a risk policy must be prepared in universities with the objectives of minimizing losses and giving it importance by spreading awareness of risks and negative effects.
In conclusion, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, awarded the lecturer a certificate of appreciation for her efforts in conducting this workshop.
