Faculty of Computer Science, Department of Computer Networks and Web Development participates in the Tenth General Conference of the Arab Women’s Organization in Cairo

Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Hameed Shaker from the Faculty of Computer Science, Department of Computer Networks and Web Development, participated in a research paper entitled (Techniques for Protection from Cyber Violence) in the proceedings of the 10th General Conference of the Arab Women Organization under the theme (Communication, Empowerment and Protection of Women and Girls from Cyber Violence and Violence Resulting from Technology and Artificial Intelligence). held in Cairo from May 5-6, 2025.

In this research paper, women between the ages of 14 and 45 years were selected who were exposed to cyber violence, which is a virtual reality through the Internet and its applications, which are limited to smart devices. The violations to which women are exposed were listed, such as cyber harassment, cyber extortion, account theft, unauthorized access, defamation, spreading rumors, and identity theft.

The research paper provided recommendations for legislators and platform owners to provide protection against cyber violence.
