Students and professors of the Department of Computer Science participate in the final of the Iraqi Universities Debating World Cup

 

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, a workshop was held at the Iraqi Council of Representatives in the presence of a group of specialists and decision-makers in the field of information technology and legislation.

The workshop was chaired by Mr. Saad Fayyad Mouzan, Director General of the Parliamentary Development Institute, with the participation of the Director General of the Parliamentary Legislation Department, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Al-Mayahi, the Chairman of the Founding Council of the Syndicate, Mr. Saeed Abdul Karim, and the official spokesman for the Founding Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Azzawi, in addition to a number of MPs and professors specialized in the field of information technology.

The workshop discussed the technical and legal aspects of the law proposal, with comments aimed at strengthening the syndicate’s role in supporting programmers and organizing their work inside Iraq.

M.M. was selected. Fadel Abbas Fadel, head of the Information Technology Division at the Department of Computer Science, and Lecturer Md. Abu Bakr Saeb from the Information Technology Center at the Technological University, were selected to actively participate in the workshop and provide their specialized opinions and contribute to enriching the technical and legal discussion related to the draft law.

This participation comes within the framework of supporting academic and technical expertise in drafting legislation that serves the IT sector and contributes to the development of the software work environment in Iraq.
