The Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Office of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies / Human Rights Division, organizes a lecture on women’s rights and gender equality

Under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, the Department of Computer Science organized today, Thursday, 2025/2/13, in the hall of the late Dr. Imad Kazem in the building of the Department of Computer Science and in cooperation with the Office of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies / Human Rights Division, the lecture entitled (Women’s Rights and Gender Equality) delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Riad Khalil in the presence of the Director of Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations at the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Anmar Ali.

This lecture comes to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, the fifth axis of gender equality, as all member states of the United Nations adopted in 2015 the Sustainable Development Goals in building more peaceful and prosperous societies by 2030. The lecture defined the concept of empowering women is to empower them to face the difficulties of life and is an important factor in society and how women are leaders and have the freedom to determine their own choices, as the Prime Minister called for attention to women’s empowerment by establishing women’s empowerment units in ministries and institutions and holding a human resources course for leaders without discrimination between women and men and their assumption of positions of power.
In conclusion, the lecturer was awarded a certificate of appreciation for her efforts in delivering this lecture.
