Computer Science Department organizes a panel discussion on digital entrepreneurship and student startups at Technological University

Within the activities of the Entrepreneurship Week organized by the Technological University and under the patronage of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, in the presence of the scientific collaborator, Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Jassim, a distinguished panel discussion was held in the Computer Science Department on the topic of digital entrepreneurship and student startups today, Wednesday 4/12/2024, in the hall of the late Dr. Imad Kazem. The seminar was led by the Director of Electronic Systems in the department, Assistant Professor Fadel Abbas Fadel, and the Director of the Technology Incubator Unit, Dr. Saeed Reda Saeed. The event was well attended, with a large number of faculty and students participating. The discussion revolved around the possibility of establishing student companies within the Technological University and how to achieve digital entrepreneurship by harnessing the technical and creative potential of students.

The seminar reviewed the importance of digital entrepreneurship in boosting the local economy and its role in encouraging innovation among students. It also discussed the most prominent challenges that students may face in establishing their own companies, such as funding and management, and offered innovative solutions to overcome these challenges. For his part, the Director of Electronic Systems, Assistant Teacher Fadel Abbas, emphasized the need to provide technical and logistical support to students interested in starting their own projects, stressing the importance of harnessing modern technology to achieve the goals of entrepreneurship. The Director of the Technology Incubator, Dr. Saeed Reda Saeed, pointed out the role of the department’s technology incubator in supporting innovative ideas and transforming them into successful projects.

The panel discussion received a great deal of interaction from the students, who presented future proposals and ideas, and emphasized their desire to take advantage of these opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial skills and contribute to building successful student companies within the university. This event is part of a series of activities aimed at promoting the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation at TU, and highlighting the great role that students can play in building the future of the digital economy.
